Theme Day

Well if i must include anything on my blog, it must be Florida State. I am a big FSU fan and with this picture I must say that it reads into my point of this Blog. Just a glimpse of the picture you notice football players, contact, a team effort and much more. Well many of us tune into the Super Bowl or March Madness or what ever sport you desire to watch, cheer and in victory celebrate, but within defeat....Cry. Sports are fun to watch but take an incredible effort to achieve personally. I myself ran Track and Field Professionally and must say that it took a desire far greater than one could just imagine. Technology played a small part in my efforts. From training to studying my sport to preparing for the big event, it was my hard work and dedication that brought me success. Lately we can turn on the computer and the television and be a part of virtual sports. The wii, Xbox 360, your home PC. All of these and more bring you close to what it is like but never give you the true feeling of success as does the real thing. Think about your favorite athlete, no matter what the sport. Then think about what that person had to sacrifice to get to where they are, or were. Think about how that person had to dedicate time and effort to achieve their goal. But most importantly think about the people around him/her, who sacrificed their time and efforts, to support and encourage that athlete to success. Now tell me how a computer or email, or a blog can lift your spirits personally? Yes someone can send a message to your email, or comment on your blog, or talk to you live with your 360, but a virtual feeling of acceptance is just that. I myself like going to the stadium, sitting next to a stranger, cheering for my team, supporting that ultimate goal. In the end i go home and realize that i personally took part in that game in some way or another. I can now sit and talk with my family and friends and talk about that event, creating a personal conversation, emitting emotions, and creating a sense of acceptance. That to me is the personal touch. Sorry can you tell me how to gather that feeling through a megabyte, or a .com? Somebody try, i am open to the thought.

Picture of the Day

Just look. Then Close your eyes and visualize yourself with your husband, wife, mom, dad, or any one ytou chose. Reading a book, sipping on a glass of wine, or just having a conversation. Hearing the sounds of the ocean, the birds flying above, and the many smells that tickle the inside of your nose. This is what God intended when he created this earth. Technology is beneficial in many ways, but like many things in life, we take advantage of things we need. The sun, water, air, friends, love ones, the green grass, the blue sky, and most importantly ourselves. We have forgotten what gives us pleasure. I love to sit outside at night and just look at the sky,. The thoughts run through my head but as they pass a sense of peace comes upon me and all i think about from there is my wife and kids, and my dogs. The simple things in life that bring me joy and happiness, and most importantly the things in life that make me complete. No harddrives, no wires, no email, or instructions. Just me and my simple things in life.

Just a simple touch can speak a novel

I look around and see the technology and wonder?........Where is the personal touch? We text, and email, and IM, and blog, and it goes on and on. When do we sit down and talk, sip a cup of coffee over a laugh, read a book together next to an open fire? Where is the one on one connection we get from eye contact, a touch of the hand, a kiss on the cheek. We have lost this idea, and replaced it with satelite messages, LOL, applications at the touch of a finger, basically mans greatest inventions to impersonality.
